Brighter than the sun

About

I am a wife, a mom, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a sister-in-law, a Godmother, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, a friend, a nurse... I love taking care of my family and love spending time with them. I have roots in South Jersey in a farm family and was raised to "handle it". I am proud that I handle what comes in my path...sometimes it's not easy, but I know that's what we are supposed to do and what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
I love picking veggies and making food from scratch. One of my most treasured possesions is my family's handed down recipes...written in their own handwriting. I treasure them and it feels like those that I love live on through them.
I have lost both of my parents and miss them very much, even though it's been 12 years...it's still like I have a hole in my heart. Even at my age I'd still like to talk to them about things and get their advice. They were taken too soon.
I love the beach and I think it is therapeutic for me. There is something about the sand, the smell and the sound of the rolling waves that just heals all of my stress.
I believe that the key to all of the problems in the world is love. I think that if people really just loved each other and cared for their neighbors, we would be much better off. If we could live a little more like Jesus....not perfection, just be our higher selves.
My best friend in the entire world is my husband, Shawn. I know that as long as he is with me, everything is going to be OK.
There are a lot more layers to me, but this is just a snapshot...more to follow.

“Thank You” seems inadequate…

“Thank You” is inadequate for the ultimate sacrifice that was made by our brave men and women in the Armed Forces for our freedom. Through the years so many family have lost sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, fiances, friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. In many homes today there is an empty chair because someone isn’t coming home to celebrate with their family.

Sometimes we get so caught up in our own world that we lose sight that right now at this minute, there are men and women in harms way, keeping us safe and preserving our freedom. They have families that love them too…that are missing them and are worried about them.

Take some time out today from your BBQ’s and picnics to remember what today means.

I pray that God keeps them safe, brings them home to their families and that God always protects our country and helps us to preserve ALL of our freedoms that these brave men and women have fought so hard to keep for us.
